We are a friendly group who love to share our passion for Nordic Walking and helping people to achieve their goals. Nothing make us happier than to see someone learn about Nordic Walking, fall in love with it and then use it hit their personal weight loss or fitness goals.
My name is Sarah Bennison and I am the local Nordic walking Instructor for Uttlesford. My background is in Swimming which I taught for 25 years and I still swim myself every day. I am passionate about walking and keeping fit. As well as being a Nordic Walking Instructor I am also a member of Uttlesford Ramblers and Saffron Walden Footpaths association and I believe we should all work together to encourage people to keep fit by walking and to enjoy the delightful countryside we have here in Uttlesford.Nordic Walking is an excellent form of exercise because the poles help you to walk faster and burn more calories without feeling as if you are working hard. The poles are also of huge benefit to people recovering from various injuries.
I enjoy motivating and encouraging clients to become fitter and undoubtedly this has an impact on Mental Health. We are a friendly and sociable group and have done a few challenges in the past few years, including walking the 15 mile stretch of The Flitch way from Bishops Stortford to Braintree(an old Railway line),as well as parts of the Harcamlow and Essex way. We often finish our walks with a coffee/lunch at one of the many cafes/pubs we are lucky to have in rural Essex.
